Illinois Basketball Freshman Kasparas Jakucionis Impresses with 37 Points
Illini Freshman, Kasparas Jakucionis, continues to impress.

Illinois Basketball freshman, Kasparas Jakucionis continues to impress and add to the hype train. In the final Eurobasket game, Jakucionis dropped a 37-point, 7-assist performance. Jakucionis has slowly built up a considerable amount of hype ever since committing to the Illini in the end of May. Kasparas is certainly impressing the masses with his smooth game and effortless looking perimeter game. In this final game, he put up 37 points, seven assists, and four rebounds on an efficient 15 of 29 from the field in 37 minutes.
Jakucionis consistently has more than five assists during each game as well. He is clearly a very confident playmaker and a growing floor general. With his size at 6 foot 6, many are speculating about his NBA draft potential. As a true freshman, Kasparas Jakucionis is considered a first-round draft pick in the 2025 NBA draft. That is impressive considering how quickly he came onto the scene for Illinois Basketball.

He showcased almost everything he has in his bag – playmaking, shifting gears with the ball, body control in traffic…

A sudden treasure for Illinois Basketball
After the Illini missed out on AJ Storr, David Jones, and Egor Demin, many wondered what Brad Underwood would do on the wing. They sorely needed a perimeter player to replace the star power of Terrence Shannon Jr. Out of nowhere, Illinois basketball seemed locked in on Kasparas Jakucionis. And the rest, as all of you know, is history.
