Illinois Basketball to host top-25 prospect in class of 2026
The talented 2026 wing will be one to watch.

Per the Twitter accounts 24/7 High School Hoops and League Ready, Illinois basketball will host 6 foot 8 wing, Alex Constanza, for an official visit over the weekend of December 10th. Constanza is currently the 17th-ranked prospect in the ESPN60 for the class of 2026. Per 247sports, he is number 11 in the composite rankings. Given the ranking, Constanza has offers from Syracuse, Alabama, Auburn, and Creighton. Per the film, Constanza is a very creative ball-handler. At 6 foot 8 inches, the Miami native uses his length to get to the hole with strong handles for his size. He gets to whichever spot he wants to on the floor and can play both on and off the ball.

The Fit for Illinois
This is one of the first recruits we have seen Illinois basketball heavily involved in the class of 2026. As of now, the Illini will certainly need wing help. As it stands right now, it is pretty likely that the current freshman wing, Will Riley, will have moved on to the professional ranks by the time the class of 2026 is set. In the class of 2025, Illinois basketball currently has two combo guards. Hence it makes total sense that they are trying to build depth on the wing. Given his versatility with the ball in his hands, it is no wonder that Brad Underwood is trying to get the talented Constanza on campus as soon as possible.
Illinois will have to fight off strong offers from Syracuse, Miami, and more as the recruitment develops.
