Illinois Basketball Star Works out with Charlotte Hornets

Per his Instagram, Illinois Basketball star, Marcus Domask, has worked out with the Charlotte Hornets. Previously,Ā  Domask also earned a workout with the Houston Rockets. With just one month until the 2024 NBA draft, it is interesting to speculate where Marcus Domask will land. He is almost certainly going to be an undrafted free agent, however, I do think he has a specific skill set that can find an NBA roster.

Domask is a creative ball-handler with some size. He is not a plus-athlete or a lights-out shooter, however, his ball handling and ability to create offense will get him some looks. The Illinois Basketball star averaged 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists during his one year in Champaign.

Terrence Shannon Jr has kept his NBA draft process close to the vest. This makes complete sense given his ongoing legal situation. Shannon Jr has a trial scheduled on June 10th and should have more clarity heading into draft day on June 26th. May 29th (today) is the deadline for players to withdraw from the NBA draft process to return to college. As a result, Coleman Hawkins will have a public decision on whether he will return to college or stay in the NBA draft.

Regardless, Hawkins will certainly not be wearing an Illinois basketball jersey next year. The Sacramento native has made it clear that he hopes to continue his NBA pursuits, however, he could earn quite a bit of money should he choose to transfer schools.
