Illinois Basketball Transfer Contacted by Blue Blood

Per sources on Twitter, Illinois Basketball transfer Coleman Hawkins has been contacted by the University of North Carolina. Though Hawkins has shot down a variety of rumors on his own social media page, this tidbit lines up with the recent buzz on the talented NBA prospect. In a recent episode of the Eye on College Basketball, Matt Norlander reported that there is recent buzz that Hawkins is likely to return to college. The schools involved with Hawkins are North Carolina, Arkansas, and Louisville.

North Carolina has not been great since making the Championship game in year one for Hubert Davis. They did earn a one-seed with a revamped roster led by returnees and very talented transfers, however, lost in the Sweet 16.

Coleman Hawkins is maximizing his options

The Illinois Basketball transfer is playing his cards right. As it stands right now, being an NBA draft pick is not a guarantee. If he ends up going on a two-way deal in the NBA, he will not make as much as he would in one more year in college basketball. Regardless, it seems that both Illinois Basketball and Coleman Hawkins have gone their own separate ways. Brad Underwood and his staff have revamped their roster and frontcourt with some talented pieces. Coleman Hawkins, on the other hand, is set for a huge payday in his one year stop.
