Illinois Football faced a rough home loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, leaving the team noticeably banged up.

As they head into a much-needed bye week, Coach Bret Bielema and his staff are focused on getting players healthy to finish the season strong. Despite suffering two straight disappointing losses, three opportunistic games lie ahead for the Illini to maximize their potential of 9+ wins, for the first time in 17 years.

However, the Illini will need to get healthy first and foremost.

Coach Bielema provided mostly good news, though some bad news arose as well, in Illini’s Week 11 injury report.

Week 11 Injury Report From Bielema

Of course, the heavy focus of the injury report was on star wideout Pat Bryant, who has 582 yards and 7 scores on the season to date. When asked about his current status, Bret Stated “Well, he (Bryant) practiced today. He kinda got rolled up there at the end, but he practiced today, full go.

Bielema then continued with a big defensive update for the Illini’s current leader in interceptions. Xavier (Scott) couldn’t go in the 2nd half, but he practiced, he was out there today. Limited, and we’ll rest him this week.

The Illinois Football coach then reaffirmed that the Illini’s already thin linebacker core has taken a major blow. “Dylan Rosiek, unfortunately, had surgery yesterday,” stated Bielema begrudgingly. “He’s out for the year.

Bielema concluded his report, “I do think (Joe) Barna should be back next week. Daniel Brown practiced a little bit too.”
