Illinois Football is starting to build out its class of 2025. As the spring approaches, Illinois will continue to build a strong foundation heading into a very important summer. They started their class off as they usually do—an in-state offensive lineman who has the potential to garner some powerhouse interest. Michael McDonough is a great first prospect to add to the class. Illinois Football has prioritized building early relationships with in-state kids and locking them down early.

Today, they added Carson Boyd. Boyd is a 3-star prospect out of Cardinal Ritter in Missouri. Per 247, Boyd holds offers from UCF, Purdue and Texas A & M. Continuing to Build

Illinois Football is currently adjusting its coaching staff. They recently parted ways with Linebackers coach, Andy Buh, and Defensive backs coach, Antonio Fenelus. They are also reportedly losing their Wide receivers coach, George McDonald, to Ole Miss and the SEC. On the flip side, they added coach David Gibbs as their defensive backs coach. Gibbs has a litany of experience which should benefit defensive coordinator, Aaron Henry. On the recruiting side, they are starting to build their class of 2025.

Bret Bielema and Illinois football have always done a good job of starting their classes early. Last year, they committed Brandon Hansen to be their first recruit in the class of 2024. Later on, Hansen received interest from SEC programs and turned it down in favor of Illinois. That is strong recruiting from Bret Bielema and his staff.
