Illinois Football Makes Top 5 for Dynamic 2025 RB

Illinois football has made the top 5 for 2025 running back, John Forster. Forster is a 4-star running back out of Montvale, New Jersey who also included West Virginia, Wisconsin, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech in his top 5 schools. He recently posted on his social media that he plans to make an official visit to Illinois Football on June 7th. Per Forster’s 247sports profile, Coach Thad Ward is recruiting Forster to Illinois. Coach Ward has always been known as a strong recruiter. Since returning to Champaign to be a part of Bret Bielema’s staff, Ward has also reeled in four-star running back, Ca’Lil Valentine.

The RB room for Illinois football:

As it stands right now, Illinois football has a very deep running back room. In addition to the aforementioned Valentine, the Illini also have Aidan Laughery and Kaden Feagin in their room. Feagin and Laughery were prized recruits who have also shown the ability to contribute at the Big Ten level. Additionally, Josh McCray and Jordan Anderson are big, strong running backs who add a different dimension to the room. Given the bulk and physicality of Feagin, Anderson, and McCray, Illinois football seems to be targeting speed and quickness with running backs. Valentine and John Forster are prime examples of this.
