Illinois Football Tight End Goes Viral at NFL Combine
Tip Reiman is an interesting story. The South Dakota native walked on to the Illinois Football team in 2020. At the time, Offensive Coordinator, Rod Smith, saw something in the Skinny Sioux Falls native. Per 247sports, Reiman was a 220lb OLB prospect walking on to a Big Ten Program. Fast forward to 2024, Reiman just completed the year as a team captain at the University of Illinois. Today, he just completed some drills in the 2024 NFL draft Combine.
Reiman made headlines at the start of the NFL Combine. Though the reasons were for some interesting reasons, he then opened a bunch of eyes with his actual performance on the field.
The Actual Combine
During the actual combine, Tip was extremely impressive. His hand size and arm length were highly rated amongst tight-ends. Additionally, he ran a super impressive 4.64 40-yard dash. Unofficially, he scored an unofficial 9.93 RAS (relative athletic score) out of 10. That score is 9th amongst tight-ends in the draft. Tip was an impressive blocker as an Illini and that should turn some heads in the NFL. He may struggle as a pass-catcher and route runner, but there is zero doubt that he is an elite blocker.

Pigeons?
Tip made headlines the other night for some odd reasons. Reiman speculated that baby pigeons do not exist and also had a theory that birds do not exist. “Have you ever seen a baby pigeon? How do we know that power lines aren’t pigeon recharging stations?”, Reiman stated while at the podium. This wild statement actually worked in Reiman’s favor. He got the world’s attention with his theory and subsequently killed it at the NFL Combine drills.
Regardless, Reiman should be able to find his way to an NFL Roster. He is too impressive a physical specimen to go unnoticed. What a story for the Sioux Falls native.
