Philadelphia Eagles Reactivate former Illini Sydney Brown
The Former Illini will be back after rehabbing an ACL injury.

The Philadelphia Eagles have reactivated former Illini safety, Sydney Brown, ahead of their road game vs the New York Giants. Brown unfortunately suffered an ACL injury on January 7th and will possibly see the field today. The former Illini was starting for the Philadelphia Eagles, however, will likely be eased back into the rotation with some action on special teams. Brown’s physical and aggressive tackling was key to him seeing the field as a rookie.
Sydney told the media recently that, ” I prepared. I dominated this ACL process. It’s just something that I prepared for. Obviously, it’s on my mind but it’s not something I’m superstitious about. Everything happens for a reason and on that day, on Jan. 7, I tore my ACL for a reason”
Tough. Smart.Dependable
Sydney Brown was everything that Bret Bielema wanted in an Illini. As Bielema established the culture at Illinois, the Brown brothers were key both on and off the field in helping Bielema establish Illinois. Hopefully, Brown can get his sea legs back beneath him this week. Next week, the Eagles will take on the Cincinnati Bengals. As everyone knows, the Bengals running back is none other than Sydney’s twin brother, Chase.
It will certainly be a cool moment to see both Brown brothers on the field at the same time.
