Terrence Shannon Jr Receives Praise from NBA All-star Draymond Green
NBA All-Star Draymond Green took to his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, to discuss the aftermath of the 2024 NBA Draft. Green was complimentary of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the draft that they had in the first round. With their first-round picks in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Timberwolves selected Kentucky guard, Rob Dillingham, and Illinois guard Terrence Shannon Jr. Draymond is one of the best basketball minds and feels like Dillingham is the best pure scorer in the draft.
However, he had some interesting words when it came to the former Illinois basketball guard.
Terrence Shannon Jr had “an incredible two years at Illinois”
Green then went on to compliment the 27th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft. He stated that Terrence Shannon Jr had an incredible career at Illinois and fell in the draft “because he gets lied on”. Afterward, Green suggested that Shannon Jr may help the Timberwolves next year before Dillingham because Shannon Jr is a big wing who can shoot the ball, get downhill, and get to free throw line. Finally, the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year said that Terrence Shannon Jr “can check” meaning he can guard the basketball very well.
That is certainly huge praise for Terrence coming from a future hall-of-famer in Draymond Green. In two weeks, Shannon Jr will start his journey in the NBA summer league. Certainly, all of Illini nation will tune in to see the start of an exciting career.
