Former Illini Chase Brown has career day vs Raiders
The former Illini contributed in multiple categories in the win.
Former Illinois football star, Chase Brown, rushed for 120 yards and caught five passes for 37 yards and one touchdown. It was certainly a career day for the second-year running back as his efforts helped the Cincinnati Bengals dominate the Las Vegas Raiders 41-24. The 120 rushing yards and five total receptions are both career-high totals for Brown. Brown was the workhorse today for the Bengals as fellow starting running back, Zack Moss, missed the game with an injury. As weeks have gone on, Brown’s role has certainly increased and he continues to deliver. If Moss continues to miss more time, look for Brown to carry a similar workload.
The Bengals will be back in action this week for Thursday night football vs the Baltimore Ravens. Hence, it is likely that Brown will have to play a similar role.

Chase Brown was the definition of a “work-horse” during his time as an Illini. Especially during his last year, it seemed that Brown would carry the ball almost every single down. While in the NFL, that role has certainly changed, however, he looks ready to carry a larger load with Zack Moss injured. The Bengals have a talented receiving corps with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, they could certainly use a back like Brown to complement them.
