Former Illini basketball star, Terrence Shannon Jr, had the best game of his young NBA career vs the Milwaukee Bucks. Recently, Shannon Jr. has seen more action in the month of February due to a few injuries to the Minnesota Timberwolves starters. Last night was the peak of Shannon Jr’s NBA action as he played 20 minutes off the bench. With those minutes, Terrence Shannon Jr. had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.
Though it may not seem like much, it was a career night for the former Illini. The Timberwolves will play one more game tonight on national television vs the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hopefully, Terrence can get some more playing time and show his stuff on the national spotlight. Of course, this will be the final game before Shannon Jr. comes back to Champaign to have his jersey honored.
Terrence Shannon Jr. night
On February 15th, Illinois basketball will host the Michigan State Spartans for yet another important game on the Illini schedule. The Spartans beat the Illini in East Lansing in a game in which the Illini had chances to win while also struggling with foul trouble. On top of that, the Illini will honor Terrence Shannon Jr’s jersey. The Chicago native will join Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn as the Brad Underwood Era players honored in the rafters of the State Farm Center.
Terrence had arguably the greatest year of an Illini basketball player in history in 2023-2024. Check out his NIL Locker Room with Campus Ink here.
