Statement Recruitment
That is certainly huge news for Bret Bielema and Illinois football as they continue to make use of the positive momentum behind their program. Typically, the best recruits in the state of Illinois look to powerhouses such as Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and others.
For Illinois football to land a player as heralded as Rankin is impressive, to say the least. Brad Underwood had Ayo Dosunmu completely change the trajectory of the Illinois basketball program. Dosunmu, a Morgan Park Alum, led the way and made the Illini cool again. Nasir Rankin’s commitment could help Bret Bielema further plant his flag in the ground as one of the best teams in the Big Ten.
