There has been a major momentum swing in the Illini’s direction, and a promising 2nd half to the schedule possesses many potential positive outcomes. Due to the circumstances, Illinois has garnered some positive media attention, in addition to favorable early bowl game projections from national outlets.

Of course, these projects are very early, as we are not even halfway into the season. However, this one should surely catch the eye of Illinois Football fans.

Illinois Football Vs Mizzou in the Citrus Bowl

Brett McMurphy, a college football insider for Action Network, has projected the Illini Football team to square off in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, against a very familiar foe. According to McMurphy, the Fighting Illini will face Braggin’ Rights Rival Mizzou on New Year’s Eve.

It would certainly be an exciting and interesting matchup for the Illini to square off against their tough border rival from the SEC. Only time will tell as we ease further into the 2024 season.
