Illinois Football signs FIU wide receiver Alex Perry
Perry is a major addition to the Illini’s receiving corps at 6 foot 5 inches, 210 pounds.
Big time news reported by 247sports as Illinois football has signed FIU transfer receiver Alex Perry. Perry is a 6-foot-5-inch wide receiver who started his career at the University of Hawaii. He spent three years there before ultimately spending the 2025 season with FIU. While at FIU, Perry was a stud wideout in the Conference USA. He recorded 56 catches for 840 yards and 9 touchdowns. Perry will play a huge role in stepping up to replace the production left by Hank Beatty (graduation) and Justin Bowick (transfer). 247sports has Perry as no. 518 overall transfer this offseason.
With Perry, the Illini now have quite a receiver room with Hudson Clement, Collin Dixon, and FAU transfer Jayshon Platt. On top of that, the Illini brought in East Carolina QB Katin Houser to lead the offense. With the expected return of running backs, Ca’lil Valentine, Aidan Laughery, and Kaden Feagin, Illinois football will certainly have as potent an offense as they have ever had in recent years.
Alex Perry will have one season of eligibility left.
