NEWS: Illini Running back Kaden Feagin to miss extended time
Brutal news for the Illini.

Per Bret Bielema, the Illini’s starting running back, Kaden Feagin, will miss an extended amount of time. Feagin was surprisingly on the injury report before the Purdue game for unknown reasons. After the close win over the Boilermakers, Bielema discussed that Feagin hyperextended his left leg during a Bye week practice. After the injury it supposedly “did not look great” Coach Bielema described the situation as a unique injury that the Illini staff are still trying to acquire information on. The Illini head man then discussed that Kaden Feagin will be “out for a little bit”
As a result, Josh McCray and Ca’lil Valentine will have pretty significant roles moving forward.
Unfortunate injury
As Bret Bielema discussed, Kaden Feagin has the chance to be an NFL player. Through just five games this year, Feagin has put up 67 rushes for 306 yards and three touchdowns. Despite the news, Josh McCray looked great against Purdue. The Junior running back from Enterprise, Alabama had 16 rushes for 78 yards and two touchdowns. McCray is certainly the superior blocker compared to Aidan Laughery and true freshman Ca’lil Valentine, and could be in for a lot heavier workload since Feagin will be out.
Also, Star defensive back, Xavier Scott should only be out for “a few days”.
