Illinois Football: Week 4 Injury Report Update
Illinois Football Head Coach Bret Bielema provided an update to the the Illini’s injury report in Monday’s press availability.

An Update From Bielema on the IR, Prior to Nebraska
Illinois Football has kept a pretty clear IR list through the first 3 weeks of the 2024 season.
There have certainly been a few key-depth pieces that have missed some time here and there. However, there have not been any real detrimental injuries to the core of the Illini’s starters thus far. Of course, this excludes tight end Cole Rusk, who is out for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury suffered in preseason training camp.

IR Update From Bielema
“We came out of it pretty healthy,” said Bielema in reference to Saturday’s 30-9 homecoming win over Central Michigan.
“A couple of injury updates – (RB) Adian Laughery is cleared. He practiced today, and should be, as long as there is not anything foreseen, with us on Friday.” states the Illini head coach.
In addition, Bret adds “(TE) Carson Goda as well. Carson practiced today. Should be involved in several aspects of the game plan as we go forward.”
Depth will certainly be key in the Illini’s battle with #22 Nebraska on Friday night. Illinois Football will take every impactful guy they can get on their depth chart. Adding depth in 2 highly important skill positions is a positive, and may provide some different looks and opportunities for OC Barry Lunney Jr.
