NEWS: Illinois Football lands top-50 prospect Victor Singleton
Illinois football lands a top-50 Overall prospect in the class of 2026.
Big-time news has dropped as Illinois football has landed the commitment of top-50 cornerback Victor Singleton from Toledo, Ohio. Per 247sports, Singleton is currently ranked 46th overall in the class of 2026 and holds offers from the likes of Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan, among many more. Victor was just recently on campus and now his commitment has sent shockwaves to the Illini fanbase.
This is a no-doubt flag-planting commitment for Bret Bielema and the entire Illinois football staff as they continue to build an impressive class of 2026. Singleton is now the seventh commitment in the class, pushing the Illini class of 2026 to number 17 in the country.
Impact?
Despite Singleton holding crystal ball picks from his home state Buckeyes, Illini defensive backs coach Corey Parker was able to close the deal on another massive pickup within Big Ten territory. Victor is the type of needle-moving recruit that Illinois Football has worked so hard to acquire during Bret Bielema’s tenure. Corey Parker and Aaron Henry certainly used their sell of working with NFL guys such as Eagles DB Quinyon Mitchell and Sydney Brown, Seahawks DB Devon Witherspoon, and Commanders DB Quan Martin to help land Singleton over blue blood programs. Also, Victor Singleton is from Toledo, Ohio, a place that Corey Parker was working at just before joining Illinois. I am sure that a tight-knit relationship with Parker was also a selling point for the four-star prospect.
When Singleton arrives on campus he will certainly battle for time amongst a very young, yet talented defensive backroom. What a time to be an Illini.
