Former Illinois Basketball star Terrance Shannon Jr strives to “Win The Whole League” at the 2024 NBA Summer League

Former Illinois basketball star, Terrence Shannon Jr, told the Timberwolves media that he “wants to win the whole league”. After being selected 27th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2024 NBA Draft, Terrence Shannon Jr is on the grind in hopes of dominating the NBA Summer League. On Tuesday (7/9), Shannon spoke to the media at the Timberwolves training facility in Minneapolis. Certainly, the former Illinois Basketball star was not hesitant to state some heavy goals for his professional debut. Terrence made it abundantly clear that he wants to assist Minnesota to an NBA summer league championship. After a trip to the Western Conference finals, Shannon Jr may very well be the missing piece to the young and rising Timberwolves.
Terrence strives to make an early splash in the NBA. In addition to creating a good early impression on Chris Finch’s staff. The former Illini star will make his professional debut in the NBA Summer League on Friday, June 12th. In fact, the head coach of the Summer League team described Terrence Shannon Jr as “a blur”.

When asked what Terrance wanted to accomplish, the answer was quite simple. “I want to win the whole league” stated Shannon. The former Illini goes on to say “In anything I do, I want to compete and win. But, that’s what t I anticipate. I anticipate us winning, all of us going out and playing hard, and getting the win.”
Terrance exhibited night in and night out how impressive he can be on the defensive end of the floor. The Timberwolves staff have taken notice in practice, and have expressed excitement surrounding his ability to be a versatile defender. When asked about his fit with Minnesota’s defense, Terrance states “Defense… that’s what I do man. I love guarding, I love getting into offensive players. Watching them (Minnesota) in the playoffs even, just picking up full court, fighting over screens, I feel like its something I can do. I really do.”
